Tour of Duty: SjoW is Champion!
After four qualifying tournaments we are down to our four winners, two from American qualifiers and two from European qualifiers. Is it the strength of European players that there are three Euros in the mix, with SjoW winning the 2nd American server tournament, or just a coincidence? Either way, the final four are battling out for $680 in prize money, after each having won an impressive sum in the qualifiers.
The Tour of Duty Final 4 will be played Friday, December 24th at 20 CET (2pm EST, 11am PST) and casted by GosuCoaching TV. Below are the participants:
Strelok from Mousesports won the final qualifying tournament in impressive fashion, and has been one of Starcraft's most dominant non Korean players. He currently sits at #1 in the GosuGamers.net rankings and hopes to add to his impressive resume by winning the ToD event.
White-Ra is our 3rd place Blizzcon finisher, Global Gamers Invitational champion, and one of the most storied names in Starcraft. This Ukrainian Protoss has been able to dominate despite being "old" and married, destroying the common stigmas associated with the more elderly gamers. Can he beat out his younger foes and take home another gold?
Qxc from Root Gaming is arguably America's top Terran player, participating in almost every tournament and oftentimes coming out on top. He recently topped Sen in the FXOpen Invitational and has been on a tear. He is America's lone hope in the Tour of Duty tournament and will have to beat out three tough Europeans for a shot at keeping up America's pride.
Sjow from Dignitas is quite an impressive player, especially because he won an American qualifying tournament, meaning he had to stay up throughout the night to play. He has been participating in many American events lately and showing that Europeans may be better! He appeared on the scene in high fashion by beating MorroW at a LAN in Sweden and hasn't looked back.
